Day 9 in Madagascar: May 28, 2016

Early this morning we met up with a local environmental club and helped them reforest an area that used to be a rainforest and was slashed and burned many years ago. We helped them carry 100 saplings to a local hill that is now a grassland instead of a rainforest. We partnered up with a Malagasy student and helped them plant the trees. It was a great experience to work with other people our age from Madagascar.

Later we visited a Nature Center where they taught local kids about different things in nature. This weeks topic was lizards. They taught the kids everything they knew about them and after that we danced and played games with them. It was fun to play with the little ones. After hanging out there for a while we went to a Cabaret at a local hotel.

The cabaret was filled with many blackout and very fun and interesting Malagasy music.
